I'm not sure I see much improvement at all. And there are times I get really down about my level of understanding, my continual lack of placing characters in an actual environment (losing patience otherwise), my not-very developed sense of how the body works and moves and looks in space.
My drawing professor talked about this sort of thing a lot, in practically every class, how you can't get anywhere you want without a shit ton of mistakes and maybe even stagnant periods. That 300 mediocre drawings are what it will take to get to that 1 drawing that you're really proud of, or for some skill to develop. But if you don't do those 300 first, then you just won't get there. Those 300 are essential. And that's a little more encouraging than being down on my art. Pretty thankful to him for keeping on driving in that message.
